A piece from my Tenderly series, When, America? is part of the de Young Open which runs through January 3, 2021. The exhibit is a stunning, energetic display of work being done by Bay Area artists. When I visited, I could have stayed for hours and not taken everything in. There was so much to see, and I know a lot of local artists are represented, but also a number who are doing brave and high quality work who didn’t make it (this time! I hope the museum does this every year, honestly.) I encourage everyone in the area to go over to the de Young Museum and see the show. They have guests book in 15 minute intervals. I took a number of pictures to share, but go see in person to get the full effect. See how vibrant the work is by artists in the Bay Area. A treasure is on display.
